John Tregambe

Director

 

John is a leader in his field with over 24 years experience in learning and development, starting his career as a secondary school teacher in the late 80's. For the past 11 years John has specialised in the development and delivery of health and safety training for business.

 

In the past four years John has been the Director of Your Safety Partners (formerly MindAtlas Health Safety and Environment), which he established in 2009, offering a wide range of health and safety consulting services including, safety systems audits, risk assessments with a particular focus on innovative online safety training. YSP now boasts and impressive list of both Australian based and multi-national companies.

 

Prior to this John was the Learning and Development Manager at BP Australia, New Zealand and South West Pacific, where his leadership enabled BP to significantly improve the core health and safety skill level of over 5000 employees and contractors across three countries over two years, where he received a number of awards for his efforts.

 

Prior to this John established the private training organisation for Red Rooster (Coles Myer) where he managed and delivered accredited training to over 3000 employees across 300 sites. This was preceded by a state training manager role where he was responsible for the establishment of the Victorian arm of the HTC Vocational Institute (the largest private training organisation in Australia at the time) and delivered training to over 6000 industry based employees which turned over $20m per year.

 

John has now lead the way in compliance training tracking with the development of a proprietary state of the art Learning Management System (learnTracTM) that is now being used by global companies to track their health, safety and environment learning across multiple countries for thousands of workers.

 

John holds a Masters Degree in Educational Policy and has received various awards for innovative learning and people engagement solutions including:

Stacey Meder

Instructional Designer / Consultant

 

Stacey is a passionate learning and development professional with extensive experience in health and safety training strategy, management and administration in the petroleum industry.

 

After 8 years with BP in Southern Africa and 14 years with BP Australia, Stacey developed a reputation for meticulous attention to detail, strong consultation skills and relationship building.

 

Stacey has been responsible for health and safety training across Australia, leading successful learning and development teams, including the development and roll out of large scale training programs resulting in a significant improvement in health and safety capability.

 

During her time with BP Australia, Stacey executed one of the largest training programs over a 3 year period seen at BP Australia with over 8000 training participations in one year. This improved training performance by 70%. She was also involved in the implementation BP’s first Retail Learning Management System as well as BP Australia's HSSE Learning Management System.

 

Stacey has extensive experience in designing and developing highly interactive and creative eLearning courses tailored to business needs.

 

Suzanne Osmond

Programs Administrator

 

Suzanne has over 25 years’ experience in administration including, health and safety, training and contractor mangement. This experience spreads over various businesses including 10 years with Foster's Group, Bendigo TAFE and DON Smallgoods.

 

Customer service and health and safety have played a large part in all these roles from working with maintenance teams, external contractors and HSE Representatives. Previous experience as a HSE Representative herself, has given Suzanne first hand experience with implementing and overseeing safety systems.

 

 

 

 

Mick White

Senior Safety Consultant

 

Mick is a highly skilled and experienced Work Health and Safety professional with a career that spans over 20 years. He has extensive expertise in safety systems development, auditing, training and risk assessment. His industrial experience covers oil and gas, marine and construction hire industries, within Australia, Asia, Europe and South America.

 

Mick's track record speaks for itself with a successful career as a manager in BP where he was well known for his ability to empower teams and deliver outcomes that exceeded expectations. He is well regarded by his peers for his ability to work well with people from diverse backgrounds, whether leading, coaching or auditing .

 

Mick also has a speciality in controlling high risk work in hazardous zones inclduding work in potentially explosive atmospheres and was responsible for managing part of BP's work permitting program.

 

 

 

Clarke Martin

Senior Safety Consultant

 

Clarke started his career as a Clearance Diver in the Royal Australian Navy before moving into the offshore oil and gas industry as a free lance deep sea commercial diver. During a 20 year career working in hazardous environments, Clarke gained a passion for the prevention of workplace incidents and injuries.

 

In 2000 Clarke gained a role as a Workplace Inspector at Work Safe Victoria starting a 13 year career with the regulator. Attaining enormous experience in all facets of health and safety, Clarke finished his last 6 years in executive positions managing teams, developing strategy and implementing initiatives focused on small to medium sized enterprises. This work included bringing unions, employers and OHS professional bodies together in an effective alliance.

 

At WorkSafe, Clarke's main roles included facilitating workshops and training enterprises in their obligations under the Occupational Health and Safety Act and other work health and safety initiatives, including development and implementation of safety systems.

 

Clarke has a Bachelor of Science Degree, majoring in Health and Safety and is a Chartered Professional Member of the Safety Institute of Australia and the Chair of the RMIT Occupational Health and Safety Program Advisory Committee.

 

Paul Rawlings

Machine Guarding Specialist

Paul has worked internationally on safety projects in countries such as Japan, Germany, New Zealand, Vietnam, Thailand, China and Indonesia. He has also had the opportunity to speak at various industry safety conferences and WorkSafe Victoria seminars in the past. A key focus area of Paul’s is preventing workplace injuries, among his many credits was being the first person in Australia to be recognised by TUV Nord as a Certified Machinery Safety Expert, and playing the lead role in launching the MachineSAFE Advanced, Robot Safety and Certified Machinery Safety Expert Courses in Australia and New Zealand.

 

Paul has worked in a number of engineering and management roles for various automotive component manufacturers, GM Holden and Pilz. In last few years he has had the opportunities to diversify across many industries including food & beverage, mining, logistics, construction, metals and plastics processing, packaging, machinery and equipment suppliers and waste management among others.

 

 

 

Kelly Reynolds

Graphic Designer

 

 Kelly has had a wide range of experience in the design industry globally.

 

Over the past two years Kelly has been responsible for developing learner interfaces for online learning and has mastered the creation of simple and intuitive designs. Prior to this Kelly has been designing and developing material for branding and marketing campaigns and publications, for organisations across a variety of industries.

 

Before that she worked with the Creative Proposals Centre at PwC (formerly Price Waterhouse Coopers) in London and New York, creating bespoke tender documents and presentation materials.

 

Employers and clients have commented on Kelly’s ability to really listen and ensure a deep understanding of her client’s needs, and to respond to those in highly thoughtful and creative ways. She has proven real-world design skills, and achieves a consistently high standard of work. It goes without saying that she has a high level of proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite on a Mac platform, as well as experience managing and administrating large projects.

 

Kelly has a Bachelor Degree (with Honours) at Swinburne University.

 

 

Craig McCarthur

Animator

 

Craig is an expert in the design and development of educational
interactive software, having worked at the University of Melbourne for 19 years in this, as well as other capacities. Prior to this he was the owner and operator of a commercial recording studio and is recognised as a talented and creative music producer and sound designer.

 

Work at the University entailed web application development including a comprehensive content and learning management system known as Webwiz, an interactive content creation and publishing tool for language learning still in use today. Craig is also an accomplished Flash Developer, with many years’ experience in the design and construction of interactives for the OHS compliance and maintenance sectors.

 

Craig has extensive professional knowledge and experience in website design and development, interface design, graphic and sound design, adult training and assessment, digital audio and video processing techniques and technology, desktop application design and programming, web application/database design and development, Apple Macintosh and Microsoft Windows environments, networking and applications.

 

Tony Summers

Film Producer

 

Tony Summers is a video producer and director and has been worked with Your Safety Partners since 2009. He worked at the Australian Broadcasting Corporation for 21 years writing, producing and directing. He worked in senior production and management positions, for much of this time as Executive Producer for ABC Education and Children's TV.

 

'Behind the News' was one of his major responsibilities. Since leaving the ABC he has worked for SBS and as an independent producer for the ABC.

 

His association with Your Safety Partners over the last three years has brought together his extensive training and television experience.

 


Michael Van Den Hoogen

Senior Health and Safety Consultant / Trainer

 

Michael started his career in the army as a radar technician. After leaving the military he worked for BlueScope Steel for 20 years with several secondments overseas as a senior safety manager in Thailand, Singapore, China and Malaysia. He has held both National and Group safety management roles in the cardboard, pharmaceuticals, food manufacturing, warehousing, logistics and waste management industries.

 

Michael is a highly effective and experienced facilitator in a wide range of health and safety topics including safety leadership and culture, hazard and risk management practice and safety systems development and implementation. His diverse experience and extensive background knowledge enables him to draw on practical examples to engage audiences and get them thinking.

 

Michael is also highly skilled in strategic and tactical planning, through to developing and implementing safety systems. He has a proven track record for developing a high performing safety culture and developing strong safety leaders.

 

Michael holds a Master’s Degree in OH&S Management with Honours from Wollongong University and in 2008 was awarded the BlueScope Steel Manufactures Excellence award for Embedding Continuous Improvement. He is also a trained ISO4801, ISO9001 and ISO 14001 audit and ICAM investigator.

 

 

 



Keith Grainger

Permit Issuer / Permit to Work Assessor

 

Keith has over 25 years’ experience in assisting the fuel industry deliver maintenance and projects safely by providing highly skilled and experienced permit writers to manage health safety and environmental issues on retail, commercial and depot facilities throughout Australia. Keith and his team joined YSP as associates in 2017 to assist our clients in the petroleum industry with their training and assessing other Permit writers and development of permit to work procedures. Keith and his team have in excess of 250 years combined experience in the fuel industry with over 75 years in permit writing. Keith has also undertaken inspections and audits of client facilities and contractors to ensure compliance with regulations, codes and company policies.

 

Keith originally started in the petroleum industry by assisting Terry Grainger in the development of permit writing systems for clients of T & V Grainger (Consultants) as well as assisting in the preparation Dangerous Goods Notifications for retail fuel sites. Keith has also been involved in compliance auditing of facilities and contractors for BP.
